Hi - I am sponsoring my wife & her (our!) child to Canada, our application was filed in JAN 2014. Curious to hear from/about actual wives/husbands/children from the Philippines and their experiences from landing to living in Canada. Has it met your expectations, what tips would you give others arriving from the Philippines, etc.? What kind of jobs are you all getting? How long is it taking? I know there is a Filipino network in just about every Canadian city, has anyone settled in a smaller centre and made do without the "Phil-net"? (I am currently trying to decide if we will stay in Vancouver or maybe move to a smaller BC community.) Any other success (or challenging) stories, etc. would be great to hear from everyone who cab share experiences!
