you are welcome,
so its your consultants fault not yours but unfortunately CIC does not recognize this kind of situations and all they can say the onus is on you to leave on time and keep your status legal.
anyway i understand your excuse and i have sympathy for you,in my own moderate opinion i don't think two months are a huge deal breaker but who knows.
here is what you need to do,if you qualify for CEC as of now(meet all of the program's requirements) and have all documents ready in hand such as a valid original IELTS or CELPIP test, reference letters from your previous employers in canada including your job duties and responsabilites...you can file an application now under CEC and attach a cover letter detailing and explaining how you came to lose your status and why you wasn't able to apply for restoration and that you left canada after you got the letter telling to do so and had no intentions to stay there illegal even for that period but your consultant did not alert you only after two months has passed,be honest and truthful, include every single document you may think its of a good support to make your case stronger.
just so you know the fact that you stayed in canada for an extra two months without status does not ban you from applying for pr or any type of temporary residence, you can always apply and the decision will be at CIC's hands, the only thing you might lose are fees associated with the application but i think its worth the try if you are interested in immigrating to canada.
finally i suggest you can seek help of a good lawyer if you can afford it just a consultancy for like an hour to seek a good help because we are all here just forum members helping each others and not immigration officials.
good luck once again.
