Hi forum my parents have a work permit as a religious worker in canada for the last 7 years, can they go and visit our home country with that kind of status and still guaranteed to come back? Please help because they have stayed in the country for a long time and just missing home. Kindly advice would be appreciated...

If the work permit is valid and they have a valid transit visa, then yes. If either of the answer is no, then the risk of being denied re-entry goes up quite a bit.

so they should apply for a transit visa right or TRV for visa allowing them to travel? We dont know how to apply for visa again to visit our home country?

You don't apply for a visa to go visit your home country. If your parents require a visa to come to Canada from their home country they would need to apply for it from their home country while visiting. If they are denied they won't be able to return to Canada.

They are just visiting a transit visa would be the way to proceed or how do they go about to it?

They are visitors in Canada. Be sure you are clear about that.

Once they leave Canada, the visas they used to enter Canada can not be used again, unless they are multiple entry and still good on the date.

If they require a visa to enter Canada they can only apply for that visa once they reach their destination, which would be their home country.

According to the OP, they are workers that wish to re-enter with that status, not as visitors. They require an entry visa, period. Not just to enter Canada but to get on a plane to return to Canada. After 7 years I'm betting their work permit and visa both have expired unless they have taken steps to renew them.

Also, "entry" is never guaranteed.
