Hi all

My relative lives in Quebec and I am claiming points in my application under adaptability. However in the application form I can't select Quebec as my destination city as it requires a CSQ certificate. Can I mention another city in the form? How would that affect the adaptability criteria for which i'm claiming points?

If your relatives live in Quebec, you stating a differrent city in my opinion will be a misrepresentation of facts.

If during the processing stage you are asked to submit their proof of address, what will you do ?

Re: Relative city and POE different (Quebec)

Would it be a misrepresentation of facts?. I am not sure. The question is that if you are claiming adaptability points does it mean that you have to land in the same city as where your relative lives?. Seems logical but it doesn't state anywhere.

Any other inputs from anyone else faced a similar situation?

That's not a problem if your relative lives in Quebec. The rules state:
Relatives in Canada
You, or, if it applies, your spouse or common-law partner, have a relative, either a

parent,
grandparent,
child,
grandchild,
child of a parent (sibling),
child of a grandparent (aunt or uncle), or
grandchild of a parent (niece or nephew), who is
living in Canada
18 years or older and
a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Oops I misread it. You want to select a differrent destination city which should be fine. I though you wanted to show that your relatives lived somewhere else.

Sorry!

Thanks sevagha. Seems a bit odd doesn't it?. You claim points for adaptability with the hopes that you would adapt more easier with the help of your relative but you end up in a different city than they are. :)

Hope the VO doesn't ask me that ???
