If a relationship support letter is written in a language other than English, does it have to be translated and notarized?

A certified translation should be more than enough.

I was wondering the same, I have all my letters ready from friends and family, but should I ask them to have them notarized?
Don't want to send in my application If having them do this will help in anyway!!
