Hi, another quick question

So my mom is under a regular visa and she got a stamp for 6-month period. However the last day is in August so it is the busy season and flight tickets are very expensive. Only 6 days later there is much cheaper flight ticket for her to return. Is it a big deal to stay for the extra days without applying for an extension?

Thanks!

She will be overstaying and will reflect in her immigration history.

Just out of curiosity, how would the CIC know when she left the border? Do they get informed by the airlines? There is no exit check in Canada as far as I know at the airports..

There is a immigration stamp at the time of boarding the flight, that is the same time when your passport is scanned at airport and information is uploaded in the system for CIC for later use.

No immigration while leaving Canada. They may not know about the stay.

True no immigration leaving country but like most governments they all have some access to flight manifests so they know who is coming in and out should they need to use that data in the future.
