Hey, does anyone know how long does it take to get the date for doing registered marriage in Canada post filling the application form? I heard that in Montreal it can take upto 2 months..does the time period for getting the date differ from one province to another province ?
Appreciate response

It is different from one province to the next. In BC for example, once you have a marriage license you can find a Marriage Commissioner anywhere in the province and be married in an afternoon.

Okay..any idea about Ontario? And is it true that marriages only happen on weekends in Canada, one of my friend told me they only perform it on weekends

Not true.

Only on weekends when the moon is full and the tide is high. That's why there are so few marriages in Canada ;)

In Ontario you can get married at City Halls, I believe, so that likely speeds things up. Check your local city hall to see if you need an appointment.

Does anyone know how to process if I want to get married in Canada but my fiancée is from outside the country. How long do I have to wait?

She would need to apply for a TRV (tourist visa) to come to Canada and get married. There is no fiancee visa.
