Hi,

I am new here and need to ask few questions and I will appreciate if anyone can help.

My daughter filled her application to sponsor her husband who is from chile in March 2011 and in July 2011 she received a letter from Immigration Canada telling her she met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor, and another letter to her spouse regarding his application for permanent residence in canada telling him that they created a file for him and they are processing his application.

This October 2012 he got a letter saying in order to continue his file he is required to submitted some documents, which he already did but now they asking to update the forms (IMM0008ENU 2D/IMM5406E/IMM5669E)The police certificate, His driver licence and his birth certificate.

What I am wondering all of those documents he already sent with his application, and why they ask to update it? is it something normal or there is a problem with his application?

please if anyone has any idea reply to my post and I am thanks full in advanced.

Suziyac.

It is normal. He should just send them what they want as soon as possible.

Thank you for replying. by any chance do you know if he should send the forms to the Canadian office or Chile? because the letter was sent from chile's office.

Letter will notify where to send the requested documents. It should be sent the Chile office as first stage is over and now the application is at Chile's Office for stage 2 processing...Good luck

Thanks a lot for your help, do you know how many stages there is? and how long will it take after this?

There are two stages.Stage 1 ( Sponsor approval - which you are received) and Stage 2 ( Processing of File at local Canadian Embassy i.e Chile ). Please see the link below for the Chile office..It shows 15 months of processing time...Good luck
