I am in a college program that is based on a 2 year diploma course and also provides a 3 year advanced diploma if you complete 2 more semesters.
I am attending the 3 year program and I'm in my 5th semester.
After I finish this semester, I am considering to opt-out the program because of financial reasons. Unfortunately, the pandemic situation is affecting in many ways. If I opt-out, I will receive a regular diploma because I have finished the required four semesters instead of the advanced diploma that requires 6 semesters.
If I opt-out the program and receive the 2 year diploma, the school faculty told me that the official documents will have a graduation date when the 4th semester is completed which is August 2020. However, the transcription will have my 5th semester as my last semester.
My question is, if I apply for PGWP after I finish my 5th semester, how will IRCC decide my completion date? Will it be based on my graduation date or the last day of my 5th semester? I am very concerned that if IRCC does not approve my 5th semester, I will not be eligible to receive a PGWP because my 4th semester has ended last August and the time limit has passed.
I was not sure where to ask until remembered this forum. I would really appreciate it if anyone could give advice or direct me to where I should ask.
