Hello Sir/Madam

My question is regarding spousal sponsorship..Currently i'm a worker in canada and my work permit is expiring on May 24,2015...
The thing is i'm in love with somebody and she is a permanent residence of canada but she is 17 thats the problem..Her parents can give consent for marriage there is no any problem in that but the thing which is worrying me is she will turn 18 years on Nov 28,2015..

Now if you know any thing about this situation.. i know she cannot sponsor me till she will be 18years but is there any way can i stay in canada untill she turns 18years which is apparently Nov 28,15 which is 6 months more after my work permit is expiring due dat is on May 24,2015 of my permit and she will be 18 years on Nov 28,2015.

I'm in deep deep trouble. Please reply me as soon as possible if you have any answer related to my question...

yours sincerely,
Dharma Bahadur

Hello. How long have u been together? do u have any chance to extend the work permit? or u may apply for a student visa

if your work permit is extendable, you can apply to extend your work permit. otherwise, 1 month before your visa expires, you can apply to change your status to visitor and exend your stay. it is quite easy to do online and costs $100. you will NOT be able to work while you are here as a visitor. if you are found working while in canada as a visitor or without the proper work visa (or an expired one), you will be working illegally and can/will be subject to removal by CBSA.

Hello,

First of all thank you so much for replying my messages...

What my current situation is i already applied for extension of work permit but my LMO rejected .So i'can apply work permit now..

Do you know any thing like if can i stay in visitor visa after my current permit expires which is mAY 2015 until my wife will be 18 which is Nov 28,2015..

Why i'm confused because i don't know will government can give me 6months of visitor visa..Isn't it tooo much?? and also after my wife when she will turns ...she will sponsor me then can i get work permit too or no...

Please reply me if you know any thing about my question ...I'll be so thankfull to both of you

Hi! Maybe this one might help you to decide.. My work permit expired May2014, before that I went to agency to apply extension of work permit but I got refused too and I received it July 12, 2014. I got mail from CIC that I can restore my status within 90 days and It will expired Oct. 12, I send my restoration as visitor Sept. 19, 2014 through mail because I'm having trouble downloading files online. My husband and I got married September 3, 2014 and we submit our application Nov. 3, 2014 and I received my TRV (Temporary Resident Visa)/ Visitor Dec. 29, 2014. I suggest you apply online because it is much faster than mail.

Happy New Year!

You can apply for TRV extensions as often as you want. Some people get 1 year extensions. But every case is different and CIC will make a choice with you, based on your specific situation and information.

Once you get married and send a PR application, you still can't get an OWP right away. If you apply INLAND for PR, then CIC will most likely give you an OWP only after AOR which should be after around 4 months. However this is a new program for giving OWP, so nobody really knows how long it will take.

Also be very careful that if you rush into a marriage with a quick wedding the second she turns 18 then immediately apply for PR, it could look suspicious and CIC may suspect that you're marrying her only for the purposes of sending in your PR app.
