Disclosure of funds

If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

cash
securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

they will ask you about it..yes do tell them.

Hi!

As you are carrying $10,000 or more you will have to declare and fill form E677. You can also fill it in advance but sign in presence of CBSA officer. Here is the form

http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e677.pdf

You will also get the following declaration card on flight. You have to tick yes to "Currency and/or monetary instruments of a value totalling CAN$10,000 or more per person"

http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e311-eng.pdf

Thanks

You made the bank draft from Canadian bank in India or from Indian bank with Canadian corresponding bank.

Hi

It will be very easy. Don't get stressed or tensed. They always welcome new immigrants and are very polite and welcoming. He/she will only ask how much funds you are carrying and in what form and might check from his/her own record that you are carrying the right amount. Then you show your already filled E677 form and sign and also show your declaration card. Your bank draft is absolutely fine don't worry. Thanks

Hi sam!

$10,000 is per person. If each person is carrying less than $10,000 he / she won't need to fill E677. Thanks

You should at least carry $11086 or you can be in trouble. If IO asks you how much funds you are carrying tell at least $11086 to avoid any problems. Better is you should carry little more than $11086 Thanks
