regarding employment during sponsorship application

Hi all,


I sponsored my husband and received the file number a month ago. Now I want to do further studies and have to leave my job. I would like to know if there will be any impact to the application if I leave my job. I am concerned because there will be no income/funds etc if I continue study.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I was unemployed when I sponsored my husband. As long as you have a way to support your family financially, then it won't matter that you don't have a job. When I applied I explained how I would support my husband (mainly my parents stated they would allow us to live with them etc. I also showed my uni degrees showing that I have education to get a job).

I have already applied with job details. Do they care about job if file is in process?. Also I have no family here so I can show them that my family will support us.

Remember that you have to inform Immigration of any important change in you status...
if you go from employed to unemployed you need to inform.. this is an important change

I don't know how it would affect your application,
I am student now.. doing my Masters... buy I have a scholarship and also work part time,
I generate enough income to support myself and my spouse through those sources....

I presented all necessary documents to support the information about income....

its true that to sponsor your spouse you don't go through the same financial requirements
as other sponsorships... but immigration may question your ability to support your spouse
in the same way as you were receiving welfare....
I personally would wait until my spouse gets to Canada to go through another important change in your life...
like going back to school...

you would not want to be challenged in that regard

Show your savings. Maybe do school part time and work part time until your spouse arrives. If you have sufficient savings it shouldn't matter much, but if it is going to be iffy, then do part time studies or wait to do school.

There is no need to inform CIC that you are leaving your job.

Remember that you have to inform Immigration of any important change in you status...

No this is wrong. There is absolutely no need to update CIC if employment status of sponsor changes .i.e. switched jobs, or quit a current job, etc.

ONLY reason that CIC would care, is if sponsor suddenly started using welfare or claimed bankruptcy during the processing.
