Hello! On the sponsorship forms it asks when i became a permanent residence or when i became a naturalized Canadian citizen. Unfortunately I know

neither of these dates accurately. I have the old Canadian citizen certificate which is the Id card: it has my photo, and the only dates on there is the

day when the card was issued , and my birth date. Because this is a renewed card the date is not the day I became a citizen but just when the card

was reissued. Will it be sufficient just to photocopy this card, and my passport to prove my citizenship, or should should i pay the 75 dollars to get

the new certificate? Thank you.

They will figure out the date you became PR or Canadian Citizen when you attach a photo copy of your passport or Canadian Citizenship Id Card.At the time of cross checking your details in there data base they will come to know about the dates and every & every thing...

I did not remembered my UCI No when I applied for my spouse sponsorship. When I got my approval email I saw UCI number and checked that number on my PR Landing Paper(Issued in 2002) and I have the same number. So just send your pp copy and ID card copy with the application...

Thank you very much. Glad to know that I can still use it. This has helped a bunch. :)
