Hi Seniors,

I am filling my PR CEC forms and Hoping to submit my today. Can someone please clarify this for me ASAP?

In family information form, should we provide the spouse name & details as well if you are divorced or Can I just sign the section A stating I do not have spouse/ex-spouse?

I am currently separated so what i did was to write the spouse name, date of birth, wrote unkown in his address section and wrote separated under marital status

i wanted to sign the form to declare no spouse but when i saw ex-spouse, i have to change my mind and complete the form. i will mail out my application on wednesday and i hope if iam making mistake, someone else will respond.

If you are divorced, you obviously have an ex-spouse.

I am divorced too, and also found the form impossible to fill out. I don't have a spouse, so I couldn't fill in the "spouse information," but then couldn't sign the declaration, since I do have an ex-spouse.

So for both I wrote "SEE ATTACHED." Then on a separate sheet of paper, I wrote the name and details for my ex-spouse, wrote a declaration that I have an ex-spouse, but do not have a current spouse, and signed it.

I don't know what CIC actually expects you to do in this case, but but this was accepted. Legally, a spouse and an ex-spouse are not the same thing, so that was the only solution I could find.
