hi would like to seek insights on our case, Me and my mom applied for a tourist visa ,i was the principal and she is the family companion i have indicated in my application that i will be solely responsible for all the expenses for trip due to she is already retired and a senior citizen. when the results came, my application was approved but hers was refused under code 179b. (assets financial situation) but I have already provided my financial docs. Both of us have been granted a visa before and we have been to CA twice. Kindly advise on what should i do better upon reapplication. Thanks

If you are over 22, she applies on her own. You shouldn’t have applied with one application as you as the principal as she is not your child. She shows her own funds (her bank statements, not yours), travel history, ties to home country and reasons to travel.

Was she working the last time she applied for a TRV or showed her own funds, ties to her home country, etc.?

nope, she only worked for quite sometime and she was already retired when we lodged our 1st approved application i was also the one funding for our trip.

So reapply with her own application as she is not your companion. Show her funds and if she doesn’t have enough show yours and see if accepted. Don’t know when you last applied but IRCC now wants to see the each person has their own funds to visit Canada.
