My aunt is the one sponsoring me. And she also showed her bank account and land evaluation. The account statement balance was 9m naira and land evaluation is 15m naira. I’m confused on what to do.

- The fact your aunt is sponsoring you works against you. IRCC likes to see that either you yourself or your parents are able to fund your living expenses and studies. It significantly reduces your chances of approval when an aunt or uncle sponsor you instead. How much did your aunt show in available funds in her bank account to support your studies? Did she include a letter with your application stating that she would sponsor the full cost of your studies and living expenses in Canada?
- It weakens your application if you apply from outside of your home country since it's difficult to demonstrate ties. You would be better off returning to your home country and applying from there.
- Did you pay your tuition for your full first year of studies before applying?
- Your aunt's travel history is completely irrelevant to your application. Only your travel history matters.

Order GCMS notes.

1. You don’t live in your home country so that is an issue. You need to show how your career will advance in your home country. You need to show ties to your home country.
3. Travel - No travel to UK, US, NZ or Australia. This shows that you can get a visa.
2. Finances - Do you have any of your own funds? Your aunt seems to be sponsoring all your fees. Land evaluations are not liquid funds. Did you pay first year tuition? How old are you?
3.So you weren’t accepted into the Lagos program...why?

Your profile is not strong to return to Nigeria. Also saying Brandon University is the best nursing school is very far fetched. It isn’t even in the top 20 in Canada.

I’m 30 years old. I’m the one sponsoring myself here in Ukraine but is only 450$ a month I spend total on my monthly bill and rent that’s why I didn’t bother to mention my bank statement. And sometimes my account is on 0$. I wasn’t accepted to Nurse school in Nigeria cuz I was ask to pay a bribe to have a chance because I’m competing with rich people that pay millions to get their kids to be in school. My aunt don’t believe in that lifestyle and I too I’m a strong religious person my heart won’t be at peace with me knowing I’m in school in naija not cuz of my knowledge but cuz I bribe myself in. I didn’t pay the school fees we didn’t know we had to pay the school fees before applying for visa. My career and where I study will give me a head start in Nigeria in getting a job because people I know who studied abroad gets first job employment in Nigeria and their pay is more than people who studied in Nigeria. 80% of hired people in health sector in Nigeria didn’t go to school in Nigeria. The must top is UK, US and Canada. I’ve my mother and my brother in Nigeria, how do I show ties to home country if having the two most important people in my life there. Me been away from my mother is not easy on her. I don’t go a day not talking to my mother and telling her I will visit her soon and I plan to go back this summer. My residence here expired July and I will be returning back.

So you didn’t pay any tuition fees? How much is tuition per year because if your aunt is the sponsor and you don’t have any funds (which is an issue), how will you even afford the program? I don’t think you have enough to cover tuition and other expenses even your first year. Land isn’t liquid funds. How will you pay for the other years?

What is your work and education history? Being 30 you must have been doing something for the past 10 years. Your degree in Canada will be over 100k so it makes very little sense to study in Canada if you actually planned on returning to Nigeria where nurses won’t make enough to justify the huge cost of studying in Canada. There are other countries that offer nursing training at a fraction of the cost of Canada.
