refused australia refugee visa- indian citizen spouse

My husband was a student in australia and he applied for protection visa and i believe it was refused. Then he applied for RRT which is review for his refusal but somehow he managed to sort out the problems back home and decided to go back to India. he also withdrew his file for review from australia. After that i visited India and we got married. He has a clear record in both India and Australia. We were in relationship before he applied for this visa and stuff and its a genuine relationship of 3 years. I wanna know to what extent his refused refugee visa will affect his application or if anybody else has experienced same kinda situation, please share their views.

First thing you need to confirm is if it was indeed refused (I assume it is). If it was, it may cause a few problems since failed refugee bids do raise an alarm to CIC. May I ask what his claim for seeking refugee status was? India is not a country that many people who file for refugee status come from.
