Good day!

my friend's application for post graduate work permit, the reason of refusal the school was not qualified for open for permit but the school is designated as post secondary institution and can host international student. the school name is Professional Institute of Massage Therapy located in calgary, alberta.

any inputs regarding the situation? because im going to apply soon as well after getting my diploma.

thankyou, hope you can help me with this.

It sounds like your friend was correctly refused. Just because a school is on the DLI list and qualifies for a study permit, doesn't mean it will also qualify for a PGWP. If a school is a private school (like your school) there are additional requirements the school and program need to meet in order for students to qualify for a PGWP. Massage programs typically don't qualify.

The following page contains detailed information about the requirements your school/program has to meet to qualify for a PGWP:

There's no list.

The requirements the school and the program has to meet is in the link I provided above.

oh okay, i thought there was a list. how did you know that the massage program is not qualified? im just curious. but anyway, i think he forgot to include the letter from institution stating duration of studies and program code. he only submitted the diploma/transcript, and passport.

Have you tried asking the school? If others have gone through the program, ask the alumni or the school.
