Refund, I'm worried!

Hello,

I'm a May 2015 applicant, and we got AIP a few days ago, and we just got in the email today that we will be getting a refund of of 335 from the total of 1190 CAD we paid.

Is that a reject? or did I overpay.

We paid for Sponsoring Spouse and 3 years old son.

Appreciate the feedback, cannot wait until I call CIC in the morning. ???

If you got an OWP, then it shoudl be 255 paid for that.

I noticed I also paid 100 CAD + 1190 CAD (1290 CAD) to include the OWP which we did receive.

This still does not explain why we got 335 CAD back.

that's strange... because the dependant would have been another 150 or something?

It must be Phoenix . All joking aside, it is an overpay, but I am not certain how they got to that amount.

When we paid, we overpaid too (the web form miscalculated): we paid $1165 + $255. And their records state such. So we will have a $75 refund..

Maybe it's interest?!

We paid 100 CAD only (mistake from out side) for OWP.

We got OWP so we owe CIC 155.

They got it from 490 CAD and returned 335 CAD.

Looks like it will be a refusal.

Oh man, that seriously sucks.

Well, order your GCMS notes right away -- they will take 30 days to get to you. This way you can address any of their concerns when you reapply.

Does ECAS show DM? Does myCIC?

I am still not totally convinced yet that it's a rejection..

GCMS: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp (have the Sponsor apply. Fill out the consent form: PA in section A, Sponsor in section C, sign date, scan into pdf). Make a request for GCMS notes. It's a Privacy Act request (those are free).

We were thinking of buying a house soon, this changes everything.
Can't wait to call them in the morning and will apply for these notes depending on how the phone call goes.

You were extremely lucky to have received the OWP. Most people that underpay have their OWP application returned.

Is the child yours also...because if he is, he may already be a Canadian citizen (depending on how you obtained your citizenship). That would explain $150 of the over payment.
