What should be the fair reference to count approx time limit of 6/12 months set by Canada Immi Minister.

Is it AOR from Sydney,NS?
or AOR from local visa office?

In my opinion, from the date visa office receive your application.

With the new 2009 'real' fast track system the process takes anything between 8-12 months. With the avg being 10 months. Off course delays might be there, but those r individual case basis, depending on individual factor/s.

The timeline stated above is from the Sydney AOR.

Note: This is generalised based on our observation of cases during the yr 2009.

I think that these timelines start after the application is received at your local visa office. I dont remember it but i have seen it somewhere.

Regards,

Afaraz

Its from the date when you submit your complete file to local visa office

Dear all,

The timeframe CIC advices is off course from the day our apps reach the local CHC. But, what I suggested is the observation of 2009 cases thru trackitt, canadavisa & other forums. Here, most of the cases got finalized in avg 10 months from the time they applied for Canada immigration.

Brothers, plz note that I'm not talking abt the official 'timeframe', but the ground position on real time basis. As a reference u may like to check the cases of user 'calgirl' & 'sharma77' as an imdt eg. There r scores of others too.

Regards.

The minister means from the time to visa office. I would even say AOR time and not the date they receive it. At least thats for the post Dec applications. It might not be true for the feb-Nov 2008 applications.

As qorax mentioned, we can all see the real time data on trackitt. It is really use ful to assess how much other folks have taken to get the PR

In my opinion it is when ur app is rec at vo. It is also called lockin date i believe. Cirrect me if i am wrong

The application should be date stamped upon receipt. Please note however, the application
received date in CAIPS will remain as entered at the CIO. This date will also serve as the lock-in
date.
For the purpose of calculating processing times, processing only begins when the visa office
determines the application is eligible for processing. The clearest indication of this is with the
entry of “PSDEC 1” (eligible) at the visa office. Once PSDEC 1 is entered, processing time
begins. Accordingly, processing times for Skilled Worker applications are measured from PSDEC
1 to either SELDEC 5, 6 or FINDEC 1, 2, 4.

Perfect answer Rupesh.
Brother, how's your case processing? Anything after Feb 2009?

Nothing yet, thanks. I am not so sure about going to Canada nowadays but would still like it as an extra option. How about yours?

Why, why? I'm sure Canada is quite a good place. And now that u have gone thru all the waiting, it should be a welcome move.
Mine... just sent the pasports & back to waiting.

Ah good for you. it shouldnt be a long wait here on.

i am in the US, and its a tad bit warmer and i dont have the worries of GC, citizenship, etc that most people have so US isnt a bad deal.
