Hi,

I was hoping someone may be able to answer a few questions I have about migrating to Canada. Basically I am an working in the UK as an IT technician at the moment, however I am looking to move out of the industry and in to a more outdoors role.

I am currently working on gaining qualifications in instructing kayaking (Hopefully up to whitewater levels) and getting snowboard instructor credentials up to level two.

My question is would Canada (presuming I have the points) accept me If I were just doing seasonal work? I have seen that recreational sports instructors are on the list as being recognized as required but Im aware you generally need a permanent job offer which is not possible due to the nature of these hobbies.

Failing this, does anyone have any ideas on year round work I could look at that could keep me in the outdoors that may also be on Canada's list of acceptable jobs for immigration?

Province I was looking at was BC :)

Many Thanks

Why don't you migrate as an IT technician and then switch over to the outdoors job once you're here? That's certainly one option.

My husband and I did a week of fantastic sea kayaking off Vancouver Island a few years ago. Beautiful part of the country...

I suppose that is an option, do you not need to remain in the industry for a particular length of time?

Yes I have been looking at all the sea Kayaking round those parts. It seems like its situated in the perfect spot Vancouver.

No - you don't need to remain in the industry for a particular length of time. You can do whatever you want once you arrive.
