Dear All,

I have a question.
I was given a Record of Employment [ROE] by my employer for a 10 days of Unpaid vacation I took in the early days of my joining the company.
I lost the copy that was given to me.

My question is that should I be submitting the ROE along with the Employment records file ?
If I have to submit it. Please someone advise me how to get a copy of the ROE.

Thank you guys in advance for all the suggestions and responses.

An ROE is not necessary. Just the reference letter is the minimum requirement but if you want to supplement that with evidence, you may attach pay stubs or in case of Canadian work experience, T4 or Notice of Assessment of taxes.

Hi Raven00090,

I have all the other Documents that is Pay stubs for the entire 1 year, T4, Notice of assessment.
Can I mention in the LOE regarding the unpaid vacation and that I lost my copy of ROE ?

No, not the entire year. Just a couple of them would be okay. I'd say first month, middle of the year and last one (if no longer working there) or any recent pay stub would be alright. No need to give ALL of them at the same time (that is, T4 + pay stubs + NOA). On their site, they don't mention pay stubs specifically but do mention T4 and NOA for Canadian work experience. So I'd say just attach your T4 (and NOA if you want to add more, no harm).

No need to mention anything about losing ROE since you are not attaching ROE. ROE is a document that can be requested to Service Canada I think. Just look it up or ask someone here. I've myself never requested any additional ROEs.

Thank you so much for your help Raven. I really Appreciate it.

You're welcome! One last thing. Just make sure that your employment verification letter covers all the required points asked, which are (from cic.gc.ca)

a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
- should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
- should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits
