Received Passport Submission Request + Got New Passport

1. Received a passport submission request (had given all details of older passport)
2. I just received my new passport today

They have asked me to submit my passport to VFS Global, shall I submit the old one or the new one?

Many past cases on this issue. The fix is to send over both passports with a LOE.

Just to reiterate, I should send VFS both my passports and a letter of explanation as to why I got my passport renewed.
Shall I mail anything to IRCC or the passport request email?
