Hello,

(I'm currently living in Canada)

Today I received a letter from the CIC that my temporary resident permit will not be granted and that I MUST leave Canada immediately or enforcement action may be taken.

The letter has no dates or other options so I must leave.

I completely understand what this letter says and I will be leaving Canada.

But how long do I have to leave Canada, I'm worried because I need to cancel my bank account, my phone plan, and sell my car which I've already started.

I don't want to affect my future plans of moving back to Canada.

I've heard that with a departure order you have to leave within 30 days, but I don't even know if this is a departure order.

I can afford to buy a ticket around the 5th of January which is 23 days away. Is this going to affect my plans to return to Canada?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thankyou.

You should leave within 30 days. So January 5th is a good date.

Okay.

I got in contact with a CBSA officer just after your reply stating that I should leave within 30 days.

When I read that letter I thought I only had a few days to get out the country. Scary stuff.
