Hi Everyone,
I think I had some good news. I got an email from Case Processing Centre Ottawa saying that my PR application is "almost complete" and that I need to send in passport photos, etc., within the next 30 days.
I received that email on 22nd Dec. i am currently on work permit visa.

My question:
1) i am currently in India and i got engaged on 5th jan. If i get married on 16th Jan and receive a marriage certificate on same day. Can I send my passport and my wifes passport to Ottawa offfice and let them know that i have got married. Will we both receive the PR stamped on passport at the same time?

2) i would really appreciate, if anybody knows best way so I can take my wife with me together to Canada once we get married. She wants to work as soon as she can when she is in Canada.

3) As i have received my CPCO should I go ahead and send my passport to the ottawa office. Once I get married in April how long does it take to get her a dependent visa and when can she start working in Canada as I will have PR by april.

Thanks,
Jay

1. No, you will have to fill in the forms, send your spouses medicals, PCC and wait for IRCC to evaluate your spouses admissibility based on security and medicals. It will take additional processing time and your current visa, if issued will be cancelled and a new one will be issued later. To read more see

2. Only after you get married can you add your spouse to your application. If you land as a PR after the issue of Visa and CoPR, you will have to sponsor your spouse, for which the processing time currently is 12 months.
