Received call from Cana high commission

I placed my application on 16th Feb 2016.
Today I received a call from Canada High Commission and asked me some details about me and my wife. Is this normal?
Has anyone received similar call?

Make sure it was not a fraud. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2015-06-30.asp

If you receive a call it is wise to ask the agent for his name, number, and office from where he is calling. Usually they give this before they ask for anything. But very unusual.
