Cool, congrats!!!! Which Visa office did you apply to?

Nice, very fast, gigab. I don't understand your question though. Are you expecting them to call your employers and colleges to confirm what you sent? They should though to be honest, I never heard of them confirming anything with my employer, I would have found out if they had since my employer is kind of jealous about employees leaving, I think you know what I mean. I'm not saying they didn't confirm but since my boss was surprised when I told him about this, my guess is he didn't get a call from CIC. I just hope you don't have to repeat Mexico PCC. By the way, where are you planning to reside?

what is full form of AOR?
is AOR given by CIO-Sydney after submitting initial application or Local CHC visa office like Buffalo USA after submitting full application??

AOR given by Local CHC visa office after submitting full application

Hi Benny,

I get confused by reading mail from other members.

look at this posting
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/indian-polic-or-fbi-t32517.0.html

it say's got AOR now preparing for full application.

please help me understand the meaning of AOR and when one gets it.

Regards,
Max :-X

Hi ersum_max:
My AOR was given Janary 11 after sending my complete documents to the visa office in Guatemala.

I would like to ask Zygurn what medical tests were you asked for? I read your timelines, pretty fst too. I'm glad. How was your interview?
By the way we plan to land in Toronto.

Thanks everyone.

Medicals are nothing extraordinary. You get a questionnaire that is filled by one of the 3 CIC approved doctors (Tegucigalpa, Comayagua and SPS 1 each), the contact info for these doctors are attached along the questionnaire but you can also look them up on CIC's webpage. The doctor will fill the questionnaire and ask you to do the exams, I spent Lps. 3300 on the doctor filling out the questionnaire and Lps. 980 on the exams (I know, ripoff!!) for just one person. The exams were just an urine sample, blood sample and chest X-ray and he took my pressure, so nothing extraordinary, no full body scans or something fancy.

The interview, well, remember I applied through Quebec hence why the interview was in '08 instead of '09. They just asked me general questions and I had to show them the originals of my degree, any original document about my current job (contract, salary slips, etc). and the questions were: about my current job (responsibilities, how long I've worked in this position), questions about a previous job I couldn't show any proof of cause I worked in Mexico and the company is out of reach for me, why did I choose Quebec? (in your case, Ontario) why Montreal? Whether I was aware my profession is regulated or not? and whether I enjoyed my trip to Montreal and asked me what did I do, where in Montreal did I go, etc. Nothing too fancy or serious. Of course, my interview was in French but you're going to Toronto so it would be in English.

I am honestly surprised your AOR only took a month. This speaks volumes of Guatemala. When I went to the interview, I overheard someone asking for her AOR and the lady just asked her how long ago had she sent her application. She had sent it 6 weeks ago and the lady just nodded and told her they take some 4-6 months to give AOR. So I'm glad yours is moving along faster than expected.

Zygurn,

When are you planning to land and where are you planning to land? I'm in montreal and would be happy to provide you with info.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Planning to land in March just in time for the inscriptions for MICC's partial time french courses. And about questions, well, I don't have one for the time being, but thanks for the disposition.
