Situation: My wife is romanian and I am canadian, but I moved to romania to be with her. I want to bring her to canada though. Someone is paying the receipt for me in canada.

Question: On the receipt, it ask for the payer's name, adress, client ID, etc. Do I ask the person to write my name as the payer or his name? Does it matter? The one who is gonna pay is from his Bank account, not mine, but I am the one sponsoring my wife.

thanks for helping us out.

He should write your name on the back of the receipt - you are the sponsor, so when they are looking to match your receipt to your application, it will be best to have your name on it. His name will mean nothing to them and, ultimately, you are the payor as I assume you're going to pay him back.

I called the call center about this one because I was confused whether it was my name or my spouse's name if they paid. It is the sponsor's name that goes on the receipt with their date of birth. They are the ones who are "technically" suppose to pay. You log into e-cas using all the sponsor's info and the receipt number. I was still scared there would be some mix up, so I put my name then in small letters I wrote "for app. of XY", whatever the spouse name is).

alright! Thank you so much guys, helped alot! Was really not sure. didn't wanna make a mistake...
