Hello
My family and I, landed in Ontario on Dec 2008, obtained our PR and we all left Canada after 10 days because we were not ready at that time.
Last summer I accompanied my wife and 2 children (still minor last August) to have them settle down, aprat rent, university & scholl subscription .... Now my wife have a modest part-time job and my children joined Univ. & school.
When we entered Canada last summer only 17 months were left before PR expiry (instead of 24 mths) but we fortunately passed smoothly without questioning at the immigration border.
So, my family is locked for 2 continuous years to maintain and be able to renew their PR status.
I spent a month with my familiy before I had to leave again Canada
to continue working and supporting them financially from outside and also make some significant savings for 2 more years before joining them.
I am planing to visit them the coming summer (knowing that my PR expires in Dec 2013).
Question: What strategy would you recommend for my case:
- Shall I surrender my PR from now (to save time) and re-apply again (I believe I can pass the new score) ?
or request the 10 year Exit/ReEntry visa in the mean time until below next option
- Try the spoosal sponsorship, after couple of years from now, proving that I can provide funds that allow us to
survive for 3 years as mentioned in http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp
Of course I'll start looking for a job in the IT field (Computer) when I move there despite my 53 years ???
Thank you
