I been staying with him for year..but the Visa officer THINKS that we did it on purpose to get a status or privilege to get a visa by living together.

You have my sympathy, Dani...!!

Wow now I got REALLY worried...! I got married to my Indonesian wife a few weeks ago, and so far I've been staying with her for about 2 months, and when I go back to Canada, I will have been with her for 4 months, and I worry that the VO might give us such a very stupid reason for rejecting our application too...!!

I think it's terribly unfair to think that your living together for 1 year as deliberate, in order to get PR status.....people do it for many reasons....such as yourself, who did it because you just wanted to be together with each other. In my case, we did it because I had to help prepare for our wedding, and then got married here in Indonesia, then we had our honeymoon here too, and then we're now working on the sponsorship application together.....nothing fishy at all, nothing intended to trick or cheat our (my wife's) way into Canada......

This is really crazy and I'm speechless.......

pull up your socks hun ! I would consider myself VERY lucky if you dont have to Appeal here in Toronto. The waiting time in Saskatoon is very short (please correct me if Im wrong)

Hopefully, you will be reunited soon ! Dont give up ! Keep busy ! Believe me, I know (28 months waiting time for Appeal hearing in Toronto) Where's the compassion ?

You are right. The waiting time in Saskatoon is quite short compared to Toronto. She must count her blessings :)

The waiting time in Vancouver is short too. I just had to wait 5 months and a half.

And this is what I told her... she has to keep busy. I don't know if she is working, but she has a little girl age 7. I would have liked to have my son to be 7 (he is 17 now) during the waiting time. So many fun things/activities/outings to do! At 17 they don't want to do stuff or to go to places or even eat at the table with their mom!

I am enormously depressed big time. The Embassy in Rabat and the VO destroyed me emotionally.. I felt that everything is end of world and no hopes, our future plans is ruined.

also, I am very skeptical about Appeal process, the IAD board and my Lawyer. I felt like we are guilty and no one believe us.

I lost interest in everything and let it slide away such like doing laundry and cleaning the room and not feel like to eat anything at all--no interest. I rather to stay in bed. I stayed in bed since 8 30 am to 5:11pm already today and going back to bed, too depressed. :'(

my husband encouraged me to forget what the VO said to us and move on but I wont forget what the refusal letter said and I am still obsessed about visa for my husband. I want him to be with me.

i still cry about remembering the details in refusal letter..it stings a lot. It destroyed me emotionally scar inside and outside.

hope everything will be alright. things do happen for a reason, but try not to let them bring you down.

u can always appeal and have a lawyer to stand with you.

cheers!

people do that to live together because they love each other and can`t live without each other. I love my husband very much and couldn`t stand being without him, couldn`t sleep without him and worry about him while I was in Canada. I came to Morocco to be with him. It is so wonderful to wake up every day in the morning beside him.

we are not doing this to get the status by living together. It is totally unfair. we done the application together and fill it out. oh well. your right.. it is really crazy. :(

I know that Toronto's waiting list for Appeal is extremely long. It is because of too many people in the city and GTA( total of 2.4 million people living there). I lived in Toronto for 7 years. The Appeal board should find a way to make it short instead of waiting 28 months!!

I am glad that I am in Saskatoon, it will be short, probably around in 5 month to get the Appeal.

Did they refuse your husband's visa application? It seems that people working in Visa section have the power to say yes or no and have their own opinions that is unfair.

I agree ! You MUST keep busy (that is, if you are not too depressed to get out of bed) Thank g-d for ''I love Lucy''

yes Dani.....you are correct. They have the power to do what they want. To refuse someone should require a 2 step process or at minium, the Visa officer must be help accountable for those cases that were won at Appeal. If it is shown that the VO has too many refusals.....he/she needs to be removed. I would also like to add, that all humans should be treated fairly. My partner left the Embassy in tears !!!! Compassion ? LOL......went out the door a long time ago ! Be strong...you can do it......besides, you wont have to wait long !!!

We are talking spousal sponsorship. To keep people apart is very cruel.....G-d only knows what the stress has done to my health .

On that note, I'd like to add that most life threatening illnesses go for a second opinion, so it stands to reason that life altering decisions, such as those from VO's, should also go to second VO before any negative decisions......this is flippin' marriage!

I don't know how they can't realize that declining a legitimate marriage is like stripping someone from their child!

They have made a decision on Nov 6th but have not got the letter yet but from other peoples experiences i have figured out that its most likely a refusal since they have not asked for passport b4 making the decision and interview or stuff......but i still have a little hope left....prayers might work for me.
and u r right i really dont like the way they work.....they dont even care about others emotions :(

something need to be changed at the Embassy such like interview the sponsor who sponsor husband or wife, interview both to see the each sides to determine that marriage is genuine instead of interviewing just one person(sponsored person).

if visa officer decide to refuse, need to get 2nd opinion from senior visa officer and have 2nd interview to make sure.

my lawyer already filed the Notice of Appeal to Vancouver Appeal registry office so I have to wait for the letter. also he states that he will receive our application by March 1st,2013... why so long to receive it?

you might receive it earlier. I received my notes 3 months after I filed Appeal.

We filed Notice of Appeal first week of January and we received the whole file back on April 11 and one week after we got phone call to let us know our full hearing has been scheduled for June 21st.
