Hello!

I am a Romanian citizen, living in USA since 2004 under F1 student visa (OPT right now). I am planning to apply as a skilled worker with a common-law partner for Toronto. I am organizing my documents to send them to Sydney and I have few questions before applying.

I have filled out the following forms:
Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (IMM 0008-Generic)

Schedule 1: Background / Declaration (IMM 0008 – Schedule 1)

Schedule 3: Economic Classes – Federal Skilled Worker (IMM 0008- Schedule 3)

Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)

Questions:
1. Do I have to send a copy of my English test- IELTS? Or it is not required with ths application?

2. Do I have to send any documentation proving our commitment as common law partners? If yes, do you think it would be enough to send some bank statements stating both names and car insurance on both names?

3. Do I have to send a copy of my visa now in order to prove that I have been lawfully admitted to US for at least one year?

4. Do I have to send my photo with Application for Permanent Residence in Canada? I know that photos with common law partner is not required in the first phase of the process, what about my photo?

5. What about the processing fee? Do I have to send it now?

6. Do you think that Toronto is a good choice if I am a Romanian citizen applying from USA? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you guys!

If you have it is fine. If not ensure you have before you receive your AOR.

2. Do I have to send any documentation proving our commitment as common law partners? If yes, do you think it would be enough to send some bank statements stating both names and car insurance on both names?
That will be required later so do have it ready.

3. Do I have to send a copy of my visa now in order to prove that I have been lawfully admitted to US for at least one year?
For initial application I don't think it is required however you will need to provide proof to your visa specific country mission.

4. Do I have to send my photo with Application for Permanent Residence in Canada? I know that photos with common law partner is not required in the first phase of the process, what about my photo?
No. It will be required later however a copy of the biodata page of your passport is required.

5. What about the processing fee? Do I have to send it now?
Yes.

6. Do you think that Toronto is a good choice if I am a Romanian citizen applying from USA? Or do you have any other suggestions?
That is subjective.

Thank you guys!

All applicants need to complete the Fee Payment Form – Application for Permanent Residence – Federal Skilled Worker (IMM 5620), regardless of the chosen method of payment."

barsindoo...i got the form, thanks, but now...uhhh, maybe it is a stupid question, anyway...if i am going to pay with my debit card- visa, and i have american dollars....tam tam, does it matter?

Your card vendor will do the conversion at the prevailing rate.

You don't have to worry at all about that.
