Ready for visa email-passport not valid for 6 months

Hi guys,
I received my ready for visa email today.The email says my passport should have 6 months validity but mine expires on 24 May next year.I had been planning to renew it very soon but I only sent my PR application in early September and wasn't expecting the email so soon.Anyone been in this situation?I've emailed them to explain but just wanted to know if anyone else was in this position before

What is wrong with renewing it (assuming it takes few days) and send a CSE enquiry and attach the renewal page?

When do you intend to land? They won't issue the visa past the passport expiry date if that comes earlier than the medical expiry.

I'm already living in Toronto so I would do it pretty much as soon as I got my COPR.Should I just send my current one?

For CoPR cases, your current passport will work

I emailed CPC Ottawa about it.Do you think I should send it with my current one or wait for their reply which may take awhile,especially over the holidays?

I am also in a similar situation. RFV received yesterday and my passport expires on March 21st. What happened to your case, did you have to renew your passport before sending those documents? I have emailed them regarding this but the expected time to answer is 20 working days.
