I am on a post graduate work permit in Canada which is expiring march next year. I have applied outland spousal sponsorship and I will get my PR process done October next year. Can I extend my pgwp or do I need an LMIA to extend my work permit?

Confused ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

PGWP can not be extended.

As said above, you can't extend your work permit. If your employer can get an LMIA, you can apply for a NEW work permit.

okay, thanks! i think that will work. But one more question regarding why I got 2 year PGWP. I went to border to apply for PGWP. The officer said that I have completed my diploma within one and half year instead of 2 years. So he gave me work permit for 2 years. I told him that is my skills that I completed this diploma less than the given time. But the actual lenght of the diploma is 2 years. I have friends who have got 3 year work permit and they have completed the same diploma in one and half year.

So, based on that can I apply for extension or re-apply work permit so the actual length of PGWP become 3 years???????
