hi there

Anyone know how long it takes to process medicals, after they been redone?
As now they are eMedicals, not sent by regular mail does the Embassy get a copy to?

The embassy never gets the medical examination results. They get an assessment code only. The code tells the visa office whether it is a pass or a pass with surveillance or a fail.

Who gives them the assessment code? When is the medical result examined and how soon can applicant get to hear from CIC if there is any issues with the medical? Or do they wait till the last minute. Thank you

The DMP sends the results to the Regional Immigration Medical Centre, who review the results. It takes about 3/4 weeks for them to post the results on line. If there is a problem with the medical, the RIMC will send a furtherance letter to you, to return to the DMP.

Thanks for the instant reply. My ecas status shows "medical received" since 19th sept. Can it mean anything else other than just " received"?

how did you check the status of your status?

Do you get a notification by the physician if you fail the test? I mean, what if you have lung cancer but they don't tell you until after they have rejected your application... Then not only do you have to leave the country, but you're also terribly sick!

This is all done in a matter of days......they send pass / fail to Embassy via email.

I am not sure if it's the same for all the DMPs/embassy but here's my re-medical timeline:

Request email sent by embassy: October 14, 2013
Re-med done: October 16, 2013
Results forwarded to embassy (according to the clinic and also confirmed in the GCMS notes): October 30, 2013
Started Processing application (based on ECAS) : Nov 13, 2013
Decision Made (based on ECAS) : Nov 18, 2013

Now, my husband is waiting for the Visa and COPR to arrive in the mail.
I hope this helps.
