I've been in Canada since July 17, 2012. In December I applied for a visa extension which allows me to stay until December.

In May I am planning to visit my family in the US, but am worried that I won't have COPR upon returning. If I don't have COPR, do you think they will let me though anyway as long as I show them proof of PPR, or do you think that would be cause for them to turn me away since it's obvious that I don't really intend to leave?

Edit: I plan on leaving May 17th and returning May 31st. We will be sending in my passport and the ROPR fee the first week of April at the latest.

That will pretty much depend on the border agent you get, "re-entry" is never guaranteed. Just a rhetorical question... why first week of April, why not NOW?

Yea, that's what I figured. I'm pretty confident that I will have COPR by the beginning of June though, and that is when I'm planning on coming back. I just need to take deep breathes and stop worrying so much. I would like to know other's peoples stories, though. Anyone return to Canada after staying for a long period of time?

Finances. :( My husband is a mason and it's the end of the off season so we're living check to check right now. Usually we're pretty well off, but this winter started kind of early so we had to dip into savings. If the e-mail would of come 2 weeks ago it would of been fine, but I didn't expect to get it so soon!

As soon as we can pay it we will, though!

you will be allowed to reenter canada because you have a valid visa for that

Yea, I think that I'm just being paranoid and stressed. I'm just not going to worry about it.
