@bellaluna @Bryanna pls help! -
I am writing to get recommendation on documentation I should show while applying for my mother’s visitor visa. Both of us have Indian passports. I am however also a permanent resident of Canada. Got my PR in 2016 and since then have been here working at professional jobs. 5 months in 2016, then 7 months in 2017 and 1 year in 2018. In 2019, I have started with a new company and been with them for the last 2.5 months. My salary at all these jobs were >=50,000 and I have regularly filed my taxes etc. I applied for my mother’s Canada visitor visa in 2017 but she got it just for 2 years, maybe because her passport was expiring in 2 years, not sure.
She has travelled to US before and has a 10-year visa stamp from US. She was employed as a Government school teacher in India at the time of her last application and was able to provide a NOA and prove ties with home country with her job and all her family lives there too. She visited me for almost 2.5 months earlier this year and then again very recently for another 2.5 months. She recently left on 21 Sept because her visa was expiring and we didn’t want her to overstay. However, I am getting married now in November and would really like her to be there. She does not have a visitor visa and I will have to reapply for her.
My concern is that this time she is retired from her job and will that go against her? She gets a regular pension and has all her family except me in India including my brother (they live together, my father passed away several years ago) Also, I have not been at my current job for more than 3 months yet. And I will be sponsoring her stay here out of love. She can manage on her own too. But I’d like to pay for everything- lodging, food, air tickets. She can show about 7000$ CAD in her bank account, and I have around 9000$ CAD in mine.
She is also getting a letter from CA to certify her immovable assets and gold and vehicles etc. in India. Other than that, she has her own house but it’s on my brother’s name. Should we show my brother’s income and assets too to show that they live together and he takes care of her also to show that she has no need to immigrate to Canada? Does my employment being only 2.5 months old matter, should I wait to complete 3 months at my current job? My employer has confirmed that I have already passed probation.
I also have an official letter from the temple I am getting married at stating my date of marriage in an invitation letter. My only intent for her is to attend the wedding and leave in 10 days. She does not want to stay longer anyways because she has events to attend in India after that. But I am just now sure how to prove this non-immigrant intent. I’d really like my mother to be present at my wedding L. Please help!
