Hi Everyone,

I applied for inland PR as a common-law and also applied for the public policy SOWP. SOWP was refused because the officer said I failed to provide sufficient evidence that I’m residing at the same residential address as my sponsor in Canada. My visa expired on Jan 06, 2026.

I re-applied with restoration on Feb 24, 2026, with below docs:
- Both our Ontario IDs show the same address (mine was updated Aug 2025)
- Joint bank statement showing both names + address
- My bank statement (March 2025 & Jan to feb 2026) + CRA mail (July 2025 and 2025 NOA) + phone bills (May 2025 & Feb 2026) + paystub (Dec 2025) : ALL WITH SAME ADDRESS
- IMM5409 (common-law since Dec 1, 2024)
- Third-party letters (friend + neighbour) stating that I have lived there since Dec 01, 2024, + photos from Sep 2024 to the most recent

My concern: my “hard documents in my name” started showing the shared address mainly from around spring/summer 2025, even though we started cohabiting earlier.

We started cohabiting on Dec 1, 2024 (IMM5409), but many documents in my name show the shared address starting later, around March 2025, because my address updates happened later (me being lazy, going back home for 2 weeks, also hoping to clear french exam, so I was never thinking of applying through spousal in the first place)

I’m feeling lost and scared. Any help would mean a lot.

Question: For SOWP, do I need a full 12 months of address proof, or is it more about proving the same address at the time of application and the overall credibility of the common-law? Has anyone been approved with a similar timeline after a same-address refusal?

Thanks in advance.
Ashu
