My husband's application has been in process in April 2013. We are in the process of extending his work permit again this will be the 3rd time while we wait for a decision on his file. Since August 2015 since we've been calling CIC for updates we are just told that the application is now in the security clearance stage. My husband has had to do his medicals again which were done in March 2016 for the second time. My question is, 1 year and 5 months seems like a long time for security clearance?

Anyone have experience with really long security clearance? and what was the outcome? I'm currently 7 months pregnant so this is all starting to take a huge toll on us.

You need to reach out to your MP.

on it already, going to sign consent on Monday for them to contact CIC on our behalf.

Our MP's office allowed us to sign it and send a scan via email..
