Hey...Anybody of you applied for RCMP certificate at VPD, Vancouver? Could you please share your experience and procedure required for it?

Thanks,

Hi

I went to the VPD on Cambie, they do the fingerprint assessment there too.

You'll need 2 pieces of ID (one needs to have a photo)

They'll give you a form to complete and which you just give back to them and you go to a room and someone will fingerprint each of your fingers, wash your hands and you leave.

It cost $70 and took less than a week before I got it through my front door.

free at local police station , will get result withing two weeks

You do not pay the federal processing fee if you need a record check for one of the following situations:

You are applying for Canadian citizenship
You are applying to immigrate to Canada
You are applying for a job in the federal government (this is requested by your departmental security officer)
You are applying to join a Canadian police force (when requested by the police force)
You are making a request under the Privacy Act
You are applying to do volunteer work in Canada

applied on last friday, will get in upcoming week

Yours was free? In Vancouver, the fingerprinting etc.?

Others I saw in other provinces have been charged between $25 - $50, how did you manage to get it free?

I submitted mine on July 31th in Winnipeg !

I got nothing till now !
Two weeks back to Winnipeg police station to check on the progress , they informed me that they had some issue in sending the digital records to Ottawa! they resent it again on 17th Aug.
I have also contacted RCMP in mean time,
I got the following reply from them on 24th " you records has been processed on 20th AUG"

I still have not gotten anything :-[ ,.. very worried that Canada post might have lost the report ! :'(
