Hi, I'm a student at DAP program at UBC, I took a scheduled break this summer as I've consulted with RCIC (UBC immigration advisor) that this will not affect my eligibility for PGWP; however this september they change their immigration policy to not allow Diploma student to have scheduled break on summer, then I met them to talk about whether this effect and advise me that I violated policy and might get my PGWP refused. Which confuse me a lot as then I asked them about their previous advise and showed them email transcript about their previous advise and all they say they can do is provide a letter detailing my case to immigration officer. Would this letter be sufficient ? Would this affect my eligibility for PGWP when i graduate this summer? I kinda lose faith in my school RCIC

1. Was it a 'scheduled break' or 'a break'? Both things are different. A scheduled break (summer/winter) runs according to school's academic calendar and is program specific, not all programs allow a scheduled summer break.
If you take any break other than a scheduled break, its considered against the conditions of study permit.

well it was categorized as scheduled break, until they change their immigration policy. but I guess I'll just have to wait and see if this causes any implication to my eligiblity :(
