Hi,

I had spent weeks researching this last year but reading 1 bitter post by a member on this forum has sort of erased all in memory.

Students graduating from lets say Manitoba using advantage of PNP and SPP need to work for 6 months (any job) to be eligible for a PR.

Is there a quota on the type of job that shall be accepted by a province such as manitoba ? Lets say for e.g. do they allow on 5000 MBA students (per year) and the 5001st gets screwed ? From what I remember there was a cap on Federal immigration and not provincial. This this correct ?

Hi,

Whenever if there is any quota... it will be clearly mentioned on the CIC/Provincial govt. website. For example, under FSW - PHD stream, every year 1000 applications are accepted. There is NO quota mentioned in any of the Provincial or CEC student immigration programmes.

SPP has nothing to do with PNP or PR. SPP is just a special programme for students of India and China applying for certain participating educational institutes, for faster processing of study visa with lesser paperwork, although in reality there is not much difference in processing times. So, once you reach Canada, you have nothing to do with SPP.

So, Manitoba has NO set quota for PNP,atleast under its student immigration programme.
