I have been told that family sponsership quota for spouse and children have been reached for 2017 so no more visas will be issued in 2017 . Any members heard about this? Please express your knowledge if you know about this.

Thank you.

It's a rumour. There's no quota.

No quotas for Spousal sponsorships. Unification of families (Spouses) in Canada is their top priority as far as immigration streams are concerned.

I hope its true as no ppr lately
Who has said this ? Probably someone who expected a quick turnaround and does not want to wait patiently in a queue like everyone else.

The average quoted processing time is 12 months and you should only check the official CIC site for any statements or changes impacting processing times.

There have been DMs as recently as Sept. 26 and PPRs as of Sept. 18 according to the spreadsheets. Plus, the information in the forums and on the spreadsheets relies on members reporting the progress, which may not be highest on the list of priorities once PPRs and DMs are received. Inevitably there will be a slight delay.

We seem to hear this rumour every single year around this time - usually linked to a specific visa office or two.

Ive read many articles outlining quotas. Its been increasing. If i recall correct this years quota was 85,000? Thats off the top of my head.

Class. Specifically, 80,000 of Family Immigration applications will be accepted by the end of 2016, along with a statement by Minister McCallum

From a nasdeq article.

here my two cents, officially there's no quota for family class but the goverment has target about every stream of immigration: the link I found http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dp/2017-2018/dp.asp#sec06-3 ( see program 2.1 for family class) It's seem that for the last 3 years they didn't reach their target so I'm quite sure they didn't refuse or delay apllication because of quota or target been reach. What they would do if they reach their target... I don't know
