We are a married couple. We sent a letter explaining that we couldn't provide the joint lease/ownership because we are living with my parents. We also got notarized letters from parents on both sides stating our relationship is genuine and a notarized letter stating we are living at my parents house

Relax...... Breathe....... :D :D

Nothing to see here!

I am just nervous my app will be returned to me because of no joint lease/ownership of a house

Who knows - no guarantees. But you have provided an explanation and it is pretty common that young couples (married or otherwise) live with their folks! They may or may not ask for other items. Either way, honestly, don't sweat it. They will try to make an overall picture of you as a couple based on everything you have sent in - from the little you have said, there are no red flags!

I know the waiting and the not hearing is hard, but better get used to it, you got a few months of this!

But again...cohabiting is NOT a requirement for a married couple anyway, with or without proof (unless you submitted an Inland application).

Listen to Hurlabrick; relax!!!

My husband and I never lived together or had any joint accounts of any kind at the time we applied, and we were approved without issue. You should be fine.

I've been with my husband for five and a half years, married three years in June. He lives in the States. I own my house. His name isn't on my house, any of my household bills, or my bank account. Ottawa seemed satisfied with what we provided for proof of relationship. They're conducting the background check and no interview was needed.

I know it might be hard, but don't worry so much. Everything will be fine. :)

Makes no difference that we applied outland from in Canada?

No.

My husband is here with me and it's fine.

Thank you everyone. I was just nervous because I couldn't provide docs for everything they asked for. This makes me feel much better :)

THANK YOU EVERYONE
