Hello all,
A brief question that shouldnt have taken hours of time to unsuccesfully research;

the statutory declaration form, 5409E, asks for the declarant and declarant partners names.

it doesnt state if the principal applicant or sponsor is either one of these.

If anyone could enlighten me as to which on of these people is the declarant I would be very grateful!

Muchly appreciated!

The statutory declaration form isn't actually related to the immigration forms, it's just a declaration that you and your partner are in a common law relationship. Which one of you is the "declarant" and "declarant's partner" doesn't need to line up to the sponsor and principal applicant. As long as both your names are on it, you should be fine.

And just to let you know, it's not actually a required form.

thanks canuck, i appreciate your time in helping me here!! yah i think most of us on here are terrified of making an error so the most simple of queries kinda blows up into a mini dilemma. thanks for your assistance!!
