Howdy Everyone,

Very quick question, on form #1344pages 2 through 7, at the very top there is a box asking for the "Applicant Name and Date of Birth". For this form, am I (the sponsor in this situation - sponsoring my wife and her son from the Philippines) the applicant for this form, or is my wife the applicant, as it relates to this form?

My confusion (perhaps self induced - did I mention I hate filling out forms? ;D ) stems around this being "my" application to sponsor, even though my wife is the applicant.

I truly feel sorry, for any non native English speaking people trying to get though these forms, because even I am finding myself self scratching my head at times.

Thanks Kindly
Dan

While you are 'applying' to sponsor, for ALL other purposes you are the "sponsor" and your wife is the "applicant". Please note, this form MUST be completed on a computer and "validated", and then the applicant and DOB fields at the top of each page on the remaining document will populate automatically from page ONE.

Hi, you're the applicant in this situation.. I'm in the same boat as you, sponsoring my man from the Philippines. I looked at the form I filled and my name was at the top of each page as Applicant for that form. I guess because you are applying to be a sponsor.

Thanks for the replies,

truesmile - I have not been able to find the quote you posted anywhere, in regards to "the form MUST be completed on a computer" so I will assume I missed that some place along the lines here.

Steph_c - Ok, I will assume you filled your form out on the computer then, and not long hand?

Yes, on the computer. It's best to fill them all out on the computer. I didn't want an angry visa officer trying to read my handwriting. 1344 has a validate button on the form which you must press and it generates a barcode page. There's another form with the same feature. You must take those barcode pages and put them on top of your entire application. I guess technically you could do those 2 forms on the computer and the rest by hand but you want your app to look good and go as smoothly as possible. Anything you write must be in black ink and not blue. If I had to add something that the form would not do on the computer I would add it by hand.

Both this form and IMM 0008 has to be validated :)

Great info! Thanks everyone! I will now consider my hand written ones my rough drafts :) Thanks Again!
