Good day folks,

I got my Indian PCC from Embassy today, I am planning to go to India for 10 days in April, would this PCC be valid if I go ahead with this travel and upload docs before my due date of April 25th?

I will try my best to do APR before that but chances are my FBI PCC will take 10-12 weeks from now, so i would have to wait for it.

Thank you very much

If you submit your APR before your travel then you are fine.
Or if you wanna submit your APR after your travel or while in traveling your PCC will not be valid. CIC would need the latest PCC.

I am not an expert and I don't want to influence anyone's decision on their PCC. Your advice may well be true, but I cannot figure out why??? If you obtained a PCC in India and continued to live there it would still have a one year validity. So what is the reason that it would cease to be valid due to a 10 day visit? I would appreciate seeing any official ruling if someone has it handy. Thanks!

I am thinking the same

Ok, I can get my Indian PCC again ( that's pretty quick anyways)

Do you think my FBI PCC which i will receive sometime in march end would be applicable or I would need that again too?

Thank you

If you live in india ... once you get the PCC it will be valid for 6 months.
but when you live outside the country CIC would need the PCC after the recent/latest visit.
Please refer to the following URL

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Who needs a police certificate?
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate.

You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18.

For example: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate.

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

+1 to juluri - this is explicitly stated by CIC, so that's why you need a new PCC. It's just a rule they have.

Since you are living in US right now ... you dont need to get the FBI PCC again unless its expired.
any suggestions or comments welcome.
