Quick question about online application (re: signature)

Hi all, sorry to bother you with such an asinine question, but I was confused: so I'll be applying for citizenship online, and I've been lead to believe that I'll just type my name in the application form online alongside uploading all relevant documents.

Does this mean that I just leave the signature line on the application PDF blank instead? Or should I print it, sign it, and then rescan it as a new PDF?
