Hello All
You might see this question too often! I have been researching and I am just getting confusing answers.
My future husband and I, we want to be in Canada for 6 months (to a year, if we can apply for extension). We both work online for non-Canadian companies. We want to lease (by month) an apartment here in Canada, but we don't want to move forward with the lease until we know for sure what the deal is with immigration. We plan to drive back to the states and show proof we would leave (concert ticket or we might fly to Europe leaving from the US by then...)
Questions are:
- Can we work online still while in Canada? Or do we need a work visa?
-When customs ask us how will we support ourselves... I am not sure what to say ? Can I show them what money we have saved ? Or payslips of income we are making?
-Do we tell customs we are planning to explore Canada for 6 months?
-I was told driving with household items would look questionable. To be honest, we just want to lease an apartment for 6 months while exploring Canada, and bring some of our belongings along. That is all.
-Assuming an emergency happens and we have to leave for a weekend, what are the chances of being allowed back in? If allowed back in, does that re-set the 6 months? I am aware it is up to the officer...
-What paperwork should we display?
Your best advice is appreciated
