Hello,

I am back again for more questions :) This forum is like a God send with such valuable contribution from everybody.

I (Candian citizen and sponsor) am putting together sponsorship package for my wife (principal applicant) and step-daughter who is 18 (dependant). Came across IMM 5406 and have a few questions :

1. Per the new checklist for spouse IMM 5533, it says ...
The following person(s) must fill out their own copy of this form : You (the principal applicant), any of your family members 18 years of age or older.

However on the full guide 5289 it does not say to fill out their own copy, it just says that it must be completed and signed by principal applicant and All dependent children aged 18 or over (whether coming with you to Canada or not). So correct me if I am wrong ...

a) My wife (principal applicant) will fill in a copy of the form from her perspective?
b) My dependent step-daughter will fill in another copy of the form her perspective?
c) I as the Canadian sponsor don't need to submit a copy of the form ?

2. If 1a is correct then would my step-daughter put down her biological father as FATHER or me ? I have not yet adopted her and will adopt her once she is in Canada.

I would greatly appreciate the help !

You do not fill out any of the applicant forms.

Your wife and step-daughter need to each fill one out from their own perspectives. Your step-daughter must list her legal father, not you.

Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar !
