Hello Guys,

I have some questions that officer in Canadian embassy couldn't give me answers, I'll be grateful if you can help me!

I sent my passport to visa center to get my PR visa and it will expire on 4th of April, 2015

My wife is Canadian residing with me outside of Canada and our application under family class sponsorship, my questions are:

1) Can I go to Canada as first entry couple of days then back to home-country to finalize my work contract ,sell my car ,furniture ..etc. then back to Canada and settle there? If yes, can I go only me without my wife (My sponsor)? and how long can I stay out of Canada after first entry to finalize my issues in my home-country ?

2) I can't stay for 6 weeks to receive PR card in my first entry, and I have some friends in Toronto, can I give their mail address to CIC for mailing PR Card and once they received they can send it to me via courier ? Is that possible or delivery must be to me in person ?

3) Will I receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence with my visa ? or I have to apply for?

Thanks in advance !

1) Yes, you can land (entering Canada for the first time as a PR) by yourself, then leave to wrap up your affairs. Staying out of Canada is not a big problem as long as you fulfill the PR requirements (you have to spend 2 years out of 5 years in Canada), but if your wife is not with you (and you have no children, and if you have not been married for more than 2 years), that is a problem. For the next 2 years, you must cohabit with your wife, so if (for example) she is in Canada for the next 6 months and you are not, they will see that you are not living with your wife. If she is living with you in your home country during this time, it's ok - you can "land" in Canada and leave Canada for a few months without any problem.

2) You could have the PR card sent to friends or family, but the PR card is not guaranteed to arrive in 6 weeks. I think mine took about 2 months. Some people are randomly selected for "verification" and it takes several months. If you are not from a visa-exempt country, you will probably not be able to board a plane to Canada without your PR card.

3) your COPR will be sent with your visa.
